Double Indemnity:

In the Noir film ' Double Indemnity' the femme fatale character is shown in a very explicit, dangerous way. She is made out to be a 'jail bait' character as in one scene she is posed standing at the top of the stairs in nothing but a towel seen to be looking 'glamorous' to the eyes of the everyman. This was almost a shock for the audiences back in the time this was created as this was new to them and they would not have witnessed this sort of scene before. As she is shown to be a 'flirt' by the way she is posed , it also shows her as dominant which can also shock the audience in the
time in which this was created. Double Indemnity however also follows the film noir narrative rules as of how it starts at the end and almost finishes at the start , in this weird vice versa fashion.
A good start to your research into the Noir genre Jack, but you all need to complete your posts on the Neo Noir examples well.
