Sound Foleying

 Sound Foleying

This is a small collection on foleying sounds I created to practice creating sounds to get a feel of how it works and how I could use these skills or even some of the sounds in my final OTS task.

Story Task

Story Task

For this task we were set to jumble up random locations and situations and create a story out of them. For our story we had the location of Paris and we had a main character known as Dino Dave, Dino Dave has a gun and an umbrella and he stabbed Wendy and her cat. The title of our story is, Who knows whats really going on ? And this fits well as nobody really knows what is happening.

The purpose of this task was to help us think of different story lines and things which can be used.

Different Ways Of Sound Within A Film

Different Ways Of Sound Within A Film

This is a small task in which I did to enable me to see the different ways sound is used and created in a film. I did this to help with my Final OTS task in deciding which sounds are appropiate and learning which sounds should go where. This will allow me to see and refer to all of the different sound types which could be used within a film.

Little Red Riding Hood Continuity Task

Little Red Riding Hood Evaluation

Evaluation:

Overall, from the viewing of our final piece we got some good feedback from our classmates. However, I think that one way in which we could improve was to have more actors or more people to take part in the production of the final piece, so that the characters were not repeated and a moving camera could have been used instead of just a still camera.

When we begin to start the Title Sequence with Ishbandam productions , I will begin too take more time in the set and the location in which are scenes are set. Alot more time will also be put into the sound and lighting as we feel these were big areas that we didn't pay much attention too, which again could link to the low amount of cast members we had in our production.

Also ion the production of our continuity task we had small ideas, such as using a house in the woods as our location. However, this was very hard too find and be able to use, therefore we had to rethink about our locations and use a simple old fashioned house to represent the house of Granddad.

This task was useful to us as a group as it allowed us to test different camera angles too see which was good to use in our final production. However, I already knew most of the camera angles but it was good to refamillarise ourselves with the different angles and what they represent.

This task took a little bit longer then expected, due to the fact we only had two people ( Me and Ishaaq ) to do all of the tasks between us. This meant that we shared a lot of the workload and we got too grips with all of the different categories needed to make a short continuity task which we can develop and use in our final OTS task.

I enjoyed watching the clip over with the class, as it allowed me too see that our final scene , where Wolf shot Granddad, was very well filmed and edited. This was a risk we took with the lighting, location and camera angle, but everyone seemed to enjoy it and it went down very well.

To improve next time I would, do a lot more planning, as we were a two man group we only had a short simple storyboard to base all our planning off and many of our lines were improvised and not very well thought through. This lead to a lot more takes needing to be took which made it harder and harder to finish. I would also think a lot more about the thing in which we base it off as I think it did not fully suit us.
